For fans of voice and music apps, Auto-Tune Star provides users with neat voice effects. Auto-Tune Star’s iTunes description boasts that it uses real Auto-Tune technology. While this may be a true statement, this app feels like it is targeted more toward users who wish to have fun with their voice than individuals who are looking for an app to make their voice sound professional.
Auto-Tune Star features two modes: live and studio. As one would assume, Live mode allows users to adjust Auto-Tune and record live in real time. External speakers or headphones are required to use this mode. Studio mode lets users record a dry vocal, and then adjust Auto-Tune to suit their tastes. In this mode, users record their voice, press play, choose the best Auto-Tune sound with the slider and then save their setting.
There are a few cool features that make Auto-Tune Star stand out from other apps similar to it in the App Store. Both modes provide users with the option to create an album cover as well as save and share their songs. Aspiring singers also have the option to pick beats within the app or songs from their iTunes music library to sing karaoke style.

Some users may enjoy all the the features that Auto-Tune Star provides, but others will find themselves disappointed by the final results. After testing the app out, I wasn’t satisfied with how it altered my voice. Instead of having an Auto-Tune effect, my voice sounded robotic. I’ll admit that I can’t sing very well, but I was hoping that the app would at least make my voice sound better.Although I wasn’t thoroughly impressed with my vocals, all the features do provide users with hours of entertainment. The option to sing along to songs in the iTunes library and the ability to add beats behind vocals is quite impressive. Also, the updated interface makes Auto-Tune Star look more polished than the previous release of the app so users can enjoy showing it off to their friends.
Auto-Tune Star is an entertaining app that the whole family will enjoy, but be warned that it may not provide the professional results that users anticipate.
