This plug-in allows Audacity 1.2.4 and higher to support VST plug-ins. Just put it in Audacity's 'Plug-ins' folder. For more information on VST plug-ins, see Audacity's Plug-ins page.
To use with Audacity: just copy vst-bridge.so or vst-bridge.dll to the Plug-ins folder inside of your Audacity folder.
The Mac version is a universal binary.
This library makes it possible for programs which support the LADSPA API to load VST plug-ins. Simply place the library into any folder where LADSPA plug-ins are loaded, and it will automatically load all VST plug-ins and make them appear as LADSPA plug-ins.
VST plugins are searched for in this order:
* The current directory
* The path specified by the VST_PATH environment variable, if any
On Windows, additionally:

I think Studio One really needs a built-in bridge for 32 bit plugins, so everyone can use Studio One in 64 bit without worrying about not being able to use their 32 bit plugins. There are no real functional alternatives that do this out there for us Mac users right now.

Unfortunately, Jbridge might as well not exist on Mac. It glitches out and crashes everything right away. Besides, a seamless behind-the-scenes implementation would be ten times better.

No single crash here , but i feel for ya. I've contacted many companies about 64 bit version, since i don't want to keep jumping between versions .

What's the guarantee, an internal bridge works well? Steinberg stopps working on their bridge, comments on Reaper's internal bridge are very different.
Stop using 32bit plugs or use VSL Ensemble Pro.

Yeah, exatly. Spam the plugin manufacturers and demand 64 bit versions. I know it sucks, i've been waiting Sound Toys and Flux to come up their versions, but hopefully waiting is soon over.

I'm not using Jbridge actually, so I'm not using any 32-Plugin.. but I constantly need little free plugins for sound effects for example for song beginnings and so on. And often there is no 64-version of such plugins..

I purchased jbridge to complete the 64bit move . Main reason for jbridge is some older synths I love. Sure they have newer versions which were updated and even have 64 bit .But one of my favorite synths lost the sound which made the synth what it is . The version that came right after mine sucked bad. But it seems they noticed this, and made the latest version even more compatible with my version then the original update/version which followed mine.. wow! and it still doesn't load all presets exactly so I will continue using the version I like
Other then that some really good freebies will never be 64bit so a bridge is the only option to continue using them.
As soon as I got jbridge I did lots of stress test's and found some plugs which just don't play nice so they got left behind .
other then that smooth sailing I didn't just let jbridge scan my whole vst folder by itself I went from folder to folder and after some I would load Studio One and load them . then back to adding more and so on took some time but it's the only way to be sure .
And once in a while I get a crash but after 12days or more without rebooting I expect it, That kind of uptime I have never had with any other daw since the early days when acid and vegas first came out . As for current daws Feature set's aside, The stability alone makes Studio One king of daws . The only other software that has me even curious is bitwig but this is still far away. I would even wager another update for us will be out before or around the time of a open public rc beta of Bitwig
On the topic of synths one purchase I did before the end of the year was for Albino as it is no longer available all I can say some evil sounds are made with this synth I'm so glad I got it Very nice sounds such a huge toolbox for sound creation . I passed on lush as it just didn't wow me , I grabbed Synthmaster when they had the super sale on. Lots of sound possibilities but for me and I will admit as I haven't got deep into it at all .. but, my first thought it's more like a bread and butter va gm synth then a big wow with edge type va synth. So Many recognizable sounds are here so in time I'm sure it will get more use. And for the price of a tank of gas I couldn't wrong

OK, so what is the *big* benefit of running 64 bit over 32 bit other than memory constraints? Does it get you anything more than the 32 bit versions do? I don't think I've followed any threads on forum(s) that delve into the greater benefits of having all plugins 64 bit and running 64 bit DAW other than you got a whole lot more memory/bandwidth to utilize and brutalize.

Since my jBridged plugins spike in Studio One 2.5+ versions I would like to second this request.
At this point the author of jBridge can't help me because it's a Studio One issue, and the Presonus won't help me because jBridge is 3rd party.
So please Presonus provide us a supported bitbridge as extension or option!

For those with j-bridge problems, you might want to try using different j-bridge settings--can make a huge difference. Dev. is very helpful in this regard. Mine is working pretty seamlessly these days.
Separate 32 and 64 bit installations of Studio One 2.6 Prof.: 15' Lenovo 2.4 i7 W530 laptop w/8gb RAM, 1920 X 1080 screen rez; Windows 7 64 Bit SP1. Backup computer same brand and specs., other than it is E520 dual core, i5 with 1366 X 768 screen rez.
