Hello everyone.

Dec 19, 2019  I set up a Mac OS X 10.11 virtual machine so I can run 32-bit apps like Adobe CS) (since Catalina 10.15 won't support 32-bit), but the VMware Tools don't seem to be working. The display won't resize from the default 1024x768 and none of the shared folders appear. Restart using Boot Camp Control Panel: Click in the right side of the taskbar, click the Boot Camp icon, then choose Restart in macOS. This also sets the default operating system to macOS. For more information about restarting in macOS, see the Apple Support article Switch between Windows and macOS. Since this is a Mac VM on a Mac Host, how am I supposed to fix this? The only solution I can see is using GParted but this doesn't work on MacOS. What's the current solution to resize VirtualBox MacOS VMs with MacOS as the Host & VM? When trying to resize through Disk Utility on the Host & the VM it just results in failures. Primary OS: Mac. Mar 28, 2017  Here are the steps to resize the boot camp partition of your Mac drive: (1) First select the Mac drive, the software ask you to create a bootable DVD. (2) The software will create an image of OS X startup disk. (3) After successful burning process, restart the Mac OS X by holding the ‘Option’.

I want to expand the disk space, so I went into VMware settings and expanded disk capacity from 40GB to 80GB. It told me to then handle the partitions for it to take effect inside macOS.

I launched and went to Disk Utility and see this

Mac Os Vm Azure

Boot

I cannot resize the blue area for some reason, but I can highlight the 'Free Space' area and delete it, which then makes the desired effect happen:

Resize Boot Camp Vm Mac Os 10

Clicking 'Apply' leads to the following error..

Back to square 1. I went into Terminal and brought up diskutil list. Here are the results:

So I want to expand disk0s2, used the following command: $ sudo diskutil apfs resizeContainer /dev/disk0s2 80 (80gb is what I have set in VMware settings)

I also tried $ diskutil apfs resizeContainer disk0s2 0

Both yield the same error:

Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong or how to successfully add space to the partition? Traktor pro 2 ipad.
